Training and education program |

Kanan: |

AWF is running a training and education center named Kanan, which provides intensive training and education for autistic children and adolescent. This education and training emphasizes on highly structured program where teacher student ratio is 1-1. This program also gives emphasis on communication skills, social skills, behavior and functional academics. The specialty of the education curriculum is that parents are directly involved with the education program. |

At present AWF is providing more services for autistic children in the community by running day shift in addition to morning shift at kanan. At present 116 students are receiving training and education in both shifts. We have nine sections in each shift |

Krishnochura: |
|
|
| |
The foundation also runs a vocational training center ‘Krishnachura' for students above 10 yrs old. Works on Block, butique, tie dye, paper technology are trained over there. |

Paper technology, coloring and decorating pottery, preparation of fancy candle, crafts with rubber sheet. |
|
|
|

Clinical Services |
|

| |
AWF offers diagnosis and assessment of children and adolescent affected by autism. AWF clinic also have done follow-up services for the initially diagnosed children. From the clinic some children get themselves admitted in ‘Kanan', some of them are advised for normal schooling, and many of them are given package program. |

Those children and adolescent who are unable to attend ‘Kanan', specially those from outside Dhaka city, are given package program. In package program parents are given instructions and counseling for dealing with their children at home. |

As a part of education services for children with autism, AWF arranges parent and teacher training program regularly. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Seminar and workshops on autism is arranged regularly in AWF premises and in other organizations to create awareness regarding ‘Management of Autistic Children' among professionals and teachers. |

Services for parents |

|
| |
Our services for autistic children are special in the sense that parents are directly involved in their children's education program. |
|

| |
Beside parents' training, AWF offers parent counseling whenever necessary. Student's class visits are compulsory for each parents and home visit by teacher to each student make the parent teacher relationship very amiable. |

Awareness Program |

One of the most important activities of AWF is to create public awareness regarding autism. For this reason AWF publishes leaflets, brochures, magazines etc. Publishes articles on autism in different newspapers and communicates on different electronics media. |

Social Programs |
|
|
| |
Most common symptom of autism is poor social skill. To enhance social communication and to improve social skills AWF arranges outing programs weekly like shopping, eating in restaurant, picnics etc. Parent joins with their children in these outings. |

Cafeteria |
|
|
| |
Senior students of Kanan are running cafeteria for students, teachers and parents of AWF. We serve tiffin, lunch and also cater frozen food. All students of Kanan have their tiffin in the cafeteria regularly. |

| |
All foods are prepared by the cafeteria staff and students of Kanan. |

| |

Secretarial work |
|
|
| |
Senior students of Kanan are also doing secreterial work. All official envelopes and shopping bags are made by the students of Kanan. |
